Untoter Assassinen-Miniatur - Late Night Miniatures

He was famed across the empire as the greatest burglar who ever lived, stealing jewelled crowns from guarded palace vaults, sacred relics from temple sanctuaries and fortunes from warlords who believed themselves untouchable. Yet one tale consumed his ambition above all others: the Forgotten Vault, an ancient treasury said to predate the empire itself.

He hunted the clues through forbidden manuscripts, ruined monasteries and the memories of dying explorers. Entire expeditions vanished alongside him. At last, after labyrinths filled with traps older than recorded history, he stood in the heart of the mountain before endless towers of coins and rivers of molten gold, with a black-and-gold chest plate mounted on a throne of chained skeletons at the centre. Every instinct told him to flee. He reached for it anyway.

The curse consumed him from within. His flesh melted away into ash while molten gold fused to his bones, imprisoning his soul inside the chest plate forever, and death was only the beginning. The curse twisted his cunning into a hunger that can never be satisfied. He raids caravans, loots battlefields and drags entire fortunes back beneath the mountain, and every stolen coin strengthens the prison that holds him.
