The story

Goblins Miniatures — Wizard's Tower

Goblins in a wizard's tower is the best low-level encounter ever devised, and every GM rediscovers it independently.

The wizard is out. The goblins have been in the tower for nine days. They have not stolen the valuable things because they have no idea which things are valuable; they have instead worked out how to operate two of them, incorrectly, and are extremely pleased about it. The party arrives into a situation that is dangerous, funny, and entirely the goblins' fault.

What makes it work is that the goblins are not guarding anything. They live there now.

A set that wants mismatched scavenged colour — give every goblin one stolen arcane item painted far better than the rest of their kit.
